  • Heritage Village - GE Fan by Edvin Milkunic

"Heritage Village -- GE Fan" was created by the artist Edvin Milkunic from the United States. In his profile on redbubble, he has several pictures from the heritage site in St. petersburg, Florida, US.

I chose to feature the GE Fan on this blog as I really liked how he processed the fan, preserving the rustic old look of this object.

Please support this artist and see more of his pictures from the heritage site (and others) by checking out his redbubble portfolio and by checking out "Heritage Village -- GE Fan via his redbubble account.

  • Make Hay While the Sun Shines by David Haviland

"Make hay while the sun shines" was created by the artist David Haviland from Australia. It is currently the artist's most popular work and it features hay barrels drying in the hot australian sun.

The photograph was taken at the Hume Weir near Albury, Australia, New South Wales.

I've never been to Australia myself, but i've always been interested in the country. I love the rugged harsh terrain in this photograph, and this to me, seems to characterize what I know (I don't have much knowledge on this subject) of the Australian outback.

There is a lot of love for this photograph on redbubble already, and there has already been a few sales!

Keep an eye of more of David Haviland's work for more images of Australia's beauty.

Please support the artist by checking out "Make hay while the sun shines" on his redbubble account and by checking out his portfolio on redbubble.

"Whao!" was created by the artist Nic Sipson from the United Kingdom and it features a ride at Abingdon's annual street fair.

I wanted to feature this in my blog because it brilliantly conveys the action and excitement of the fun fair.

i've always been attracted to night entertainment like this (fun fairs, theme parks, neon lights --- there's something about bright lights at night!

    "Enlighten Me"

  • "Enlighten me!" by Richard Ray

"Enlighten Me" was taken inside the Natural History museum in London late last year. The Natural History museum is an architectural wonder, with stone facades and features modelled after the natural world.

I came up with the title after I sat and thought about the museum and the light radiating off the stonework. We naturally go to a museum to be enlightened, or, to put it another way, to gain knowledge. Thus, the title was my way to tie in what could be seen in the picture to what the purpose of a museum is.

Let me know what you think.

    Blue

  • Blue by Casper Beyer

"Blue" was created by the artist Casper Beyer From Oslo in Norway.

I like the title, as it appears to me to be a description of two things --- One, the colour is prominent in the background, setting the tone for the subject.
Two, the image conjures up loneliness, depression and misery.... We could say therefore that the character here is "Blue", or depressed!

Given all that rain, is there any wonder?

I really like this, and had to have this image featured in this blog.

The artist is in the process of compiling and sorting his redbubble profile, so stay tuned for more artwork!

  • My kitchen by James Rollins

"My Kitchen" was created by the artist James Rollins. The image was created using HDR tone-mapping via photomatix (check out his description notes for the full process information).

I really like this picture, the colours and textures are well brought out using HDR. The image itself, of a warm and cosy kitchen, looks like an old rustic period kitchen (it probably is!-- I haven't checked with the artist) from the last century.

Totally love it. I've only just gotten into HDR tone-mapping myself, and so I can't give an expert opinion on HDR processing and the like, but it's from artists like James Rollins that I draw inspiration from.

If you like this too, please support the artist by checking out "My Kitchen" via his redbubble account and definitely give his redbubble portfolio a look!

    "Another Red Pill"

  • ANOTHER RED PILL by Redtempa

"Another Red Pill" was created by the artist 'Redtempa' from London (my neck of the woods), and he photographs in and around London.

Looking over his profile on redbubble (mostly black and white Photography), I discovered "another red pill", a shot of the Lloyds building in EC3.
I rather liked his description beside the picture too where he has a quote by Noam Chomsky.

What is called ‘capitalism’is basically a system of corporate mercantilism, with huge and largely unaccountable private tyrannies exercising vast control over the economy, political systems, and social and cultural life…
    Noam Chomsky

I like how Noam's quotation  sets the theme for the artwork above.
The Lloyds building looks sombre, almost menacing......Corporate!

On a side note here.... having lived in London myself all my life... London has an impressive array of office buildings, well worth it to take a look when passing through!
Most definitely, keep your eyes out for more of redtempa's London art!

"Pier and Waves" was captured by the artist 'CavyGirl' from the United States, and the work was taken at 'Seaside heights, NJ.'

I've chosen this work to feature on my blog as I've always loved the sea, and I like black and white photography.

This particular piece stands out to me. I can almost feel myself sitting there watching the waves lash past the pier posts. The song.... "Sitting on the dock of the bay" comes to mind too!

  • The Couple by Richard Ray

On the same day that I took the picture of Tate Modern, I also took this shot of St. Paul's Cathedral and the Millenium bridge. I actually took quite a few shots as I wanted to capture the right moment.

This was edited and processed using GIMP (and paint [yes, the cheap free version bundled with windows!] --- to remove a few hot pixels).

If you like this, please view and purchase via my redbubble account.
